Events

Boys Day Out hosts events throughout the school year and summer. These events are geared toward providing a safe and fun environment, while also giving youth a social and educational experience. Through surveys and other forms of feedback we are able to customize these events to our youth's wants and needs.

Teen Night

Boys and Girls Club of Schenectady

Schenectady YMCA

Three times a year, Boys Day Out, in collaboration with the Schenectady Boys and Girls Club and The Schenectady YMCA, host Teen Night for Schenectady City School District middle school boys and girls.

Teen Nights provide a safe opportunity for youth to gather with peers and participate in structured activities such as; swimming, pool, foosball, basketball, as well as groups based on building healthy relationships.

MS Basketball

Tournament

Schenectady YMCA

Each year, BDO wraps up the school year with a middle school basketball tournament. Mont Pleasant, Central Park, and Oneida Middle School enter teams to compete in a competitive co-ed basketball tournament.

Most importantly, this even provide an opportunity for youth to engage in an activity that fosters teamwork and showcases leadership skills. Supports controlled emotions and how to win and lose.

Fishing

Schenectady Parks and Ponds

Summers are a time for fun. As part of BDO's summer programing, fishing outings to Woodlawn, Vale, and Central Park provide our young man with the opportunity to engage in an activity that promotes conversation with positive male role models, an integral piece in youth development.
